What Should You Know about Hemroids Bleeding?
Hemroids bleeding happens when the anorectal veins become swollen. The anorectal veins will become inflamed when it is swollen. There are many causes why hemroids bleeding happens. Some of the causes of hemorrhoids include lack of fiber, weak veins, loss of tissue, constipation, diarrhea, overweight body, and liver disease. As you grow older, you will lose rectal tissue elasticity. Pressure from the anal sphincters can also cause hemorrhoids. Other causes include cyst and cancer. Most hemorrhoids are as big as the pea. It can grow up to the size of a grape fruit. The patient may have one or more hemorrhoids. In most cases, the patient will multiple hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoids can develop inside or outside the anus. There are three types of hemorrhoids including prolapsed internal, thrombosed and external hemorrhoids. You can recognize which type of hemorrhoids it is by looking at the color. Prolapsed internal hemorrhoids have reddish pink color while thrombosed hemorrhoids have purplish blue color. Thrombosed hemorrhoids has dark reddish color. Extenal hemorrhoids has brownish color.
The lack of fiber is the leading cause of hemroids bleeding in most patients. Therefore, you need to eat food rich in fiber to treat the problem. You can eat psyllium seeds. Psyllium seeds is rich in fiber and help you to have a smooth bowel movement. The fiber in psyllium seeds will make the stool softer. In the morning, you can mix one teaspoon of psyllium seeds in a glass of water. It is recommended that you mix 1 teaspoon of psyllium seeds in eight ounce of water. You can do this every morning for one week. After 1 week has passed, you can drink another glass of psyllium seeds water during lunch time. In the third week, you can drink a glass of psyllium seeds during dinner.
You can also treat hemorrhoids with sitz baths. Sitz baths can make the sphicter muscles relax. It will soothe the pain caused by the hemorrhoids bleeding. First of all, you need to have a bath tub. You must fill the bath tub with 3 – 4 inches of warm water. You can rest in the tub for 15 minutes. You should sit in the sitz bath for several times each day. If you have no time, you should try to sit in the sitz bath at least one time. When you keep repeating this, your hemorrhoids will healed in a short time.
Petroleum jelly can be used to relief hemroid bleeding as well. If you don’t have petroleum jelly, you can use other types of creams such as zinc oxide. To use petroleum jelly, you need a cotton ball. You must dab the cotton ball into the petroleum jelly and rub the swollen, hemroids bleeding area. You should not use force to rub the swollen area. Scented toilet paper and irritants that contain chemicals should be avoided.
If the hemorrhoid is very big, you need to get it removed via surgery. External hemorrhoids that become very large will be uncomfortable. If the hemorhoid is located inside the anal, you need to undergo a surgery called hemorrhoidectomy.
